Session Announcement and Call for Cases: Toxicologic Neuropathology Mystery Slide Session
Calling all STP members!
You are cordially invited to propose a case for presentation at the 2025 Mystery Slide Session during the STP 44th Annual Symposium on Neuropathology in Chicago, IL. The 90-minute session will feature 4-5 cases and will take place from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
The case should be represented by 1-2 sections of central and/or peripheral nervous system illustrating the lesions. The case may illustrate a classic lesion, naturally occurring or induced, supported by special stains or other ancillary information. Because the theme of the meeting is strongly translational, cases that can be described in context of human disease or therapeutics are preferred. We hope to solicit cases from a wide range of species (fish, rodents, monkeys, dogs, pigs and patients)
At the Session, a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation (plus 5 minutes Q&A) will be used to review the case. We may also use an online polling platform to engage with the audience. Following conclusion of the meeting, presenters may opt to have their digital slides archived for educational purposes, accompanied by a description, through the CL Davis Foundation.
High quality H&E-stained sections on glass slides (up to three slides for larger species) together with a brief description of the case should be submitted to Dr. Caroline Zeiss by November 15, 2024.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Special Note: The Mystery Slide Session, currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 1:30 pm–3:00 pm, is free and open to all attendees as an educational resource to students, residents-in-training, and scientists in toxicologic pathology.
