Application of Artificial Intelligence in Enhanced Histopathology of the Spleen
Endpoints for immunotoxicity studies include enhanced histopathology of lymphoid tissues. AIRA Matrix and Experimental Pathology Laboratories (EPL) present an AI - based algorithm to quantify features in rodent spleen. The algorithm automates identification and quantification of white pulp, red pulp, germinal centers, marginal zone and pigmentation; and has been validated with a panel of expert pathologists.

The Empowered Toxicologic Pathologist: How GLP-Validated Digital Read Ensures the Highest Evaluation Quality
Digital reads of toxicologic studies enable pathologists to communicate and consult with colleagues immediately, which means every single pathologists, regardless of their seniority, has access to decades of collective pathology experience across the organization. This helps them contribute to the drug development at the highest level. In order to facilitate this, Charles River Laboratories implemented a global validation of the digital pathology systems and ensured that this technology is safe, trustworthy and on par with light microscopy.
