Male and female Charles River CD VAF Rats

SIGNALMENT:
Male and female Charles River CD VAF rats, Charles River Canada, St‑Constant, Quebec. Age at initiation of dosing was 6 to 7 weeks.

TREATMENT PROTOCOL:
Thirty animals per sex per group were given vehicle or an experimental drug. Duration of treatment was 4 weeks.

GROSS PATHOLOGY:
None

LABORATORY RESULTS: 
Measurable decreases in red cell parameters (RBC, HGB, HCT) occurred in males and females. Slight decreases in reticulocytes were evident at week 2 and 4. The magnitude of changes in RBC parameters and reticulocytes was not considered toxicologically important.

Decreases in cholesterol, HDL, LDL and TRIGLYCERIDES were present.
